At the wool sales thoro was active com. petition in all Rood classes Orossbrcds wore from 5 to 75 per cent., and merinos, o per cent, above, the opening rates. All faultics were difficult to sell, being from 6 to 10 per cont. below July rates. -Tho following prices, were realised, for flceco portions of the Now Zealand clips mentioned :—Awarutt, top. 254<t.; average, 21 3-Bd.; Masai, 17i<1., 17Jd.; Gladstone, 30jd., 19} d. . ■ OVERSEAS CIIEESE OUTPUT. London, September 19. ■The Government's intention regarding oheeso has .not been announced, but thereis a growing impression that it is likely to ta'ke over all arrivals of Australian, New Zealand, and Canadian, and possibly also the Homo output.
