The mine manager reports:—"l beg to roport for the past week as ' follows:—In nol-tb face, at 300 feet level, the progress is 6 feet in a' very strong face of dark quaita, heavily charged with mineral, and very hard to drill. This is quite a ohango from the country and quarts previously penetrated, and from appearance I. should say that we have passed through the unsettled country. The face has certainly a more promising appearance for payable values. There afc no defined walls to the quartz. ' TKcreforo I judge that we are driving into quartz of considerablc width and proving the existenco of. reof matter in the north end. of tho property. The total distance driven north is 168 feet; quartz is now being taken for assay tests. In west crosscut we have advanced 5 feet, making distance driven 13 feet, with faco in andosite conn-try intermixed with veins of quartz. ■ Machinery is working well." '
