Duneilin, September 20. At Durnsido to-day 240 fat cattle wero yarded. There was good competition for prime sorts at the prices ruling a fort; night ago. Buyers were operating for Oam'aru, Christchurch, and prices improved slightly as- the sale advanced. Values generally were about £1 lower than last week. Best bullocks, £18, £20; extra prime, £24 2s. 6d.; medium, £15, £17; light unfinished, £12 10p., £14; best cows, £12 10s., £14; extra heavy, £15 7s, 6d.; medium, £9'l2s Fat Sheen (3050 penned).—A largo pro. portion -were light and unfinished. Butohcrs were bidding well, and bought all the best sheep. Graders and dealers secured the ' light and unfinished. Prices were niach on a. par with last week's rates, but were inclined, to recede. . Best wethers, 345., 385.; extra prime heavy. 485.; medium, 295., 325. 6d.; light unfinished, 25e. upwards; best-ewes. 255„ 305.; extra heavy, 365. 3d.; others, 20s. upwards. Tho first consignment of the season's lambs were ■ forwarded, realising 28s. to 30s. A small yarding of pigs sold muoh on e, par with last week's high rates. Only » few stores came forward, and these sold well.
