BRITISH SAILORS' FUND
AX: OFFICIAL STATEMENT. An official statement of the total amount of tlie subscriptions received for ,the Navy League's British Sailors and Dependants' IHmd, was raado by the secretaryi Mr. R. Darrach yesterday-' The sum received to date is £13,177, slid of this amount £12,600 has j been remitted by the Prima Minister to the Navy League in London. Further re-, liiitrtances will be sent' by bank drafts of £500, and one of that amount Trill be sent next week.
This fund is not, as is generally supposed, for the sole benefit of the sailors and sailors' dependanfs of the Jutland battle, but H is' for all sailors and dependants • who are wounded or left destitute as a result of the war.
Subscriptions are still being received and the secretary acknowledges the following Pahmtua residents (per the Mayor, Mr. J.'D. Cfewe), £142 145.; collected by Mr. D.lKeir, £1 Bs.
