COAL MINERS' CONFERENCE
A conference of the Coal Miners' Association commenced yesterday, the following delegates being present: Messrs. W. Cairns (Kaitangata Union), It. Smith (Roa), C. Hawker Balderstono (Blackball), jl. Coppersmitb, T. Price (State Mine). T. Hilston, J. Winnard (Deimiston), J. Dowgray (MHlcrton), J. M'Bride (Ngakawau), J. O'Brien (Huntly), J. Pulton (Te Alcatea), Dovanny (Puponga); executive, Messrs. J. Arbucklc, acting-secretary (Grey District), J. Tucker (Southland), J. Jones (North Island), and P. O'Rourko (president). • • The conference was not open to the I'ross, and the day ire's occupied with private matters.
