"GOD'S WORLD PLAN"
*—: Last night Mr. J. Eos 6 Thomson, of Auckland, delivered his final public lecture at tho rooms of the Thccsophical Society, Ballance Street, his subject being "God's World Plan and Those AVho Direct It." The speaker pointed out that God's plan is embodied in the sohemo of evolution, though this is still not fully realised. Thoosophical students see every form evolving from thejower to the higher. Even in the mineral kingdom nasoent life is present, and the beginnings of desire. We call it mineral affinity, and in tho vegetable kingdom it, is still moro fully expressed. In the animal kingdom it is yet more plainly manifest, while in humanity it ripens into love. From tho mineral to Deity all beings represent-stages of growth. As with individuals, so with nations. Youth, old age, and death «re common to both. All nations must die, but not while they fulfil their functions faithfully and well. But though the forms will die, tlio lifo which uses them will remain. The nation we know will die, only to give birth to a higher race. There is no place where life is not, and the life evolves the form. Life never dies, and death is merely the vestibule to a higher life. Every grade of intellect is guided by those above. The mighty intelligence who rules our lifo is surrounded by minor intelligences, who carry out His bidding. The immediate government of tlie world is in tho hands of tho Great White Lodge of Adepts. Men are dividtd into seven great classes or rays, and at the head of each ray stands one of the great Masters of Wisdom, who live m the world for the world's benefit. Under their guidance the lower life evolves KM the higher. If anyone would become ono of this great band, all his learning, wis. dom, and power must be devoted to tlie common good-. To do this _w to reach their feet, and to reach their feet is to know God's plan for men.
