The Grand Jury returned a tale bill in the case of Toete Kainuku,' a Rarotongau native charged with the murder of Sennoth Livingstone and the attempted murder of Charles M'Farlane, shepherds at a. Sonely .hush station . near Mangapehi, in the King Country, early in July. "When the case was mentioned before Mr. Justice Cooper to-day, Dr. Beattio, in charge of Avondale Mental Hospital, said that Kainuku, who was under detention there, was suffering from an acute attack of mania, and was dangerously homicidal. He was unfit to travel, and it would be dangerous to allow him out in his present condition. The mania might "subside in a few weeks. The trial wa.s therefore postponed.
