SELECTION 1 OF N.C.O/S. A parado of local applicants for noncommissioned rank in the Reinforcements will be held at tho Bucklo Street. Barracks to-morrow; evening, when a selection willbe made- for recommendation to District HeadaTiarters. Some months ago ijre list or waiting applicants had grown to very large dimensions, and steps were taken to weed out men who did not appear to possess special qualifications. The list is now smaller, and the authorities propose in future to make selections for three drafts ahead only. An applicant for selection as a probationary non-com-missioned officer is expected to have had military experience or to possess special qualifications for command.
