Grown steers .also were keenly competed for. The firm imado a complete clearance of the entry under the hammer, prices in all cases being in favour.of the vendors. Small hoggets, 175.; low condition ewes, in lamb, ■245. 9d.; springing cows, £9 ss. to £9 10s.; backward cows in calf, £6 10s.; springing lieifers (three years old), £7 • ss. to £10 ss:; two-year springing heifcre, £6 15s. to ,£8 155.; small mixed yearlings, £3; P.A. bullocks, £13'3s. 6d.; store bullocks, £12. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—We held our weekly stock sale at the Millar Road Dunncvirke, on Friday. Only a 'small entry of sheep and cattle, came forward, and several of the lines were passed in. Quotations:—Cattle: Springing heifers, £4 10s., £5 12s. td., to £7 55.; cows in calf, £5 12s. 6d. to £8 55.; store cows; £3 106. to £5 12s. 6a. Sheep: Ewes, in lamb, 285.-ed, to 315.; ra.s. hoggets, 19s. 6d., 20s. 6d., 21s. 6d., to 235. ■ Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Dannevirko sale held on Fridßj' as follows:—Only a small entry of stock came forward. "We offered, a few pens of sheep, ;which met with a, ready eale. but our cattle entry was limited to a few pens of dairy heifers, which were hard to sell. Following Is a list of prices:—Mixed-sex lioggets (fairly good), 2ss. Id., 265.. to 265. Sd.; forward springing heifers, £9. ■ Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., report:-Our only sales during,the week were at Feilding and Uunterville yards. At Huntervjlle. we had a small entry of cattle, which sold at late rates. At Feilding we had a small entry of sheep and a lull offering of cattle. The sheep market.is slightly firmer than . last week, and we sold our entry under the hammer, prices being mostly in excess of vendors' reserves. The' demand for cattle was good for all classes except backward' heifers in calf. Dairy cows close to profit were in good demand, and prices were. good. A small'entry of beef sold well. Quotations:-At Huntcrville: Fat cows, £9.125. £d. to £10 17s. 6d.springing lieifers, £8 10s. to £11; weaner pigs (small),- 12s. to 19s. 6d.'
