A German lawyer, who lias been released. after internment for eighteen months in six different camps in France, says that the conditions were excellent. He suffered neither harshness nor unnecessary restrictions. Especially was this so in Corsica, where ho enjoyed almot complete liberty. BRITAIN AGAIN COMPLAINS. A WARNING TO THE HUNS. (Rec. August 21, 0.45 a.m.) London, August 20. Viscount Grey (Secretary of State'for Foreign Affairs) has requested America to warn Germany that if, contrary to agreement, non-commissioned officer prisoners continue to bo deprived of recreations and other privileges for refusing to volunteer for work other than that qf supervisors, Britain will be compelled to retaliate. He emphasises the fact that tlio American Embassy's representatives report that British prisoners in Germany are oil meagre ratioifs, vhicli in some instances are unfit for human consumption.
