STATE CONTROL OF WOOL TRADE
AN AMBIGUOUS ORDER-IN-
COUNCIL.

(Rec. August 17, 6.15 p.m.) London, August 16.' An Order-in-Council establishes State control over the woollen manufacturing trade, with a view to limiting prices. The schedule specifies "all materials wholly or partially manufactured from wool." There is some doubt whether this applies to the whole <?f the trado or only to the manufacture of material for war purposes. It is understood that the authorities aro considering the point.
