The railway station at Mangamahoe, which was also used as a post and telegraph office, was destroyed by fire ou Saturday nioriiing. There was nobody on the premises "when'"the fire occurred, and tlic outbreak ie a mystery. ■The Masterton Co-operative DairyCompany has decided to dispose of its building and land at JTikau.
It was stated by Mr. "William Perry at the animal meeting of the Masterton A-. andlP. Association on .Saturday-last that the Agricultural Committee . intended visiting tlio various, district high schools in the district, with the object of experimental' plots under the supervision of tho .Government Experimental Division. He considered that excellent, work could be- accomplished in this direction if the plots were established on the .lines desired.'. Tho annual meeting. of, the Masterton Co-operative Dairy 'Company was held on Saturday last. The' annual report showed that the 'company had experienced a most - successful year. Messrs. W. Letti P. Cotter, and J3. Wilton were elected directors. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr. J.. 0. Ewington was re-elected chairman.
Most of the dairy factories in the Wairarapa are being reopened for the season this week.
The AVairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board has decided to expend £300 in beautifying tho Gre.vtown Hospital and grounds, and £100 in tho provision of an asphalt. lawn tennis court for the use" of the nurses at the institution.
