,At Monday's . meeting of tlio Petone Borough Council there were present the Mayor (Mr. J. W. M'Ewan), nnd Councillors Gaynor, Cox, Brocklebank, Anderson, Jones, Trueman, M'Dougall, M'Kenzie, and Forsyth. The Commissioner of Crown Lands advised that sections in the Wilford Settlement would be submitted for auction on September 9, 1916. The' Minister of Railways stated that he was unable to accede to the council's request to place the Thomas transmission car oil the Hutt line. The coal committee recommended that the price for Coalbrookdale coal., delivered within Petono should be £2 is. per ton, £1 2s. per half-ton, lis. per quarter-ton,, and 2s.' 3d. per cwt.'
