THE BLACKBALL BOATS. The blackball Coal Company's collier Ngakuta is expected in port this morning from Greymouth. The vessel will be dispatched for Greymouth' to-morrow, and will load again for Wellington. The Ngahere is loading coal at Greymouth for here, and is duo on Sunday. Sho will get away on Monday evening for the coastal port. SHIPPING AMALGAMATION. The amalgamation of the Cimard Steaur Bhip Company, Ltd.. and the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, Ltd., is of interest in Australasia, The Cunard Company has a, share ca>pital of £1,838,699, consisting of £1,350,GC0 preference, £703,679 ordinary, and £20 Government share. In addition it has £2,970,000 debenture capital of which £1,690,(X10 <is in 2J per cent, debenture stock (Government guaranteed), and .61,230,000 in 4 per cent, mortgage; debentures. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line, which has assets in a number of companies, including the Australasian Steam Navigation and' Tyser Lines, possesses a sliaro capital of £1,997,544, of which £749,075 is preference and £1,248,469 ordinary, and there arc in addition £ES,2CO in 5 per cent, debenture. The combined capital is, therefore, £6,094,445. The report recently issued by tho Cimard Company showed a net profit of £1,347,351, of which £559.063 was applied to depreciation, £402,573 to insurance and reserve, und the ordinary dividend was 20 per cent. The last dividend of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line was 10. per cent. MESS-TABLE GOSSir. Mr. A. V. Barton, late second officer of tho J.rapoiirilra, has signed on the lloeralri as third officer. Greenwood, engineer of the Opawa, lias been succeeded by Mr. W. M'Laren. Continuing, her journey from New York the oil steamer Kinross, will' probably leave Auckland to-morrow' for Wellington. The Kiiitoa will come off the Patent Blin to-ijay, and will resumo her Nelson running this evening.
Due on Saturday from Sydney ana northern ports, the Westralia has 250 tons of cargo to discharge before leaving fctr Dnnedin direct the same evening. Early yesterday morning the colliers which have been delayed at Greymouth on account of the flooding river were able '.o clear the bar. The Kamo / and tlio Ngahere both got away for Wellington, and are expected here to-day. From the southern ports the C. and D. liner Indralema is due in Wellington on liiesday. The F. and S. liner Middlesex, at present, discharging here, will leave to-day for the south. Consideration of the question of the advisability of marking the main channels in the Jtanakau Harbour with beacons instead of buoys was deferred until tho 1917 estimates were under consideration by the Auckland Harbour Board.
