HEMP AND TOW. GRADED
The total number of .bales of hemp graded at the ports of the Dominion dur--1 mg May was 10,841, as compared with. 9163 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 1378 bales. For the twelve months ending May 31, 1916, tho number of bales graded was 143,430, as compared with 83,049 for the previous twelve months, an increase of G0,357 bales. During the month 2268 bales of tow were dealt with, as compared with 2535 for the . corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 2G7 bales'. For the twelve months ending May: 31, 1916, the number of bales graded was 39,393, as compared with 22,G1G for tho previous twelve months; an increase of 10,777 bales. ■ During tho month the number of bales of stripper slips graded was 303, as compared with 99 for the corresponding month, of last year, an increase of 204 bales. For the twelve months ending llav 31, 1916, the number of bales graded was 6455, as compared with 1414 for the previous 12 months, an increase of 5014 ( bales.
