LYALL BAST CLUB'S .REPORT.

The annual report of the Lyall Bay ■Bowling and Tonuis Club, to be presented at their annual meeting next lvoak, is as follows;—'"The club was represented in all tho important fixtures during the season, finishing second in the B section Pennant matches. Two centre trophies aio held by Urn club. 'for the first time tho club was represented at the Dominion tournament, held at Cliristchurch, by Messrs. JJurgoss, Fairway, Ferguson, Lambert, and Momth. Mr. A. A. Ferguson finished second in the singles championship. A number of inter-club matches were also played. In the club pairs and rinki 'the competitions woro not completed, anil it is perhaps desirable that these events should be discontinued.

"Owing to the lack of. members in tlio Croquet Club, tlio ilirectois have decided to disband vho club, and to utilise the ground as a spare bowling green. Three good rinks will be available. Two members of the liuwiing Club, Messrs. Asliton mid Jones, have enlisted, and there are also 15 representatives from the Tennis Club. Owing to the war and other causes the membership of the Tennis Club lias fallen (re-ay, and there is a serious shortage in vovenue. The directors are endeavouring to arrange with the,tennis members to put the club on a better footing. The finances aro in a fairly satisfactory position, the season closing with a credit balance of nineteen shillings. Thanks to i\ generous donation of'«£lso given by Messrs. J. Q. Duncan and W. H. iMorra.li, the second mortgage on the club's property lias been paid off. The bank overdraft has also been reduced by £1.1.119. (id. The present membership is: fiowters, Cli; tennis members, 27.

"Tlic folliwing retire from the position of directors: Messrs. M'Keuzio, Moran, and Morrah, who being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. Mr. Bobinson is also retiring. Mr. W. H. Morrali lias given notice that he will move: 'That tlio amount of the annual subscription be increased to £2 12s. Gil.'"
