TRAFFIC IN COURTENAY PLACE
A NEW BY-LAW. A new by-law for the better control of tho traffic at Courtenay Place East was enacted by the City. Counoil last evening. Tho by-law is as follows:— "No person proceeding along Courtenay Place in an easterly direction shall drive any vehicle or ride any horse on the southern side of the plantation near Clyde Quay whilst such person is proceeding in an easterly direction, but every such person shall, whilst proceeding in an easterly direction, proceed on tho north side' of 6uch plantation." When this by-law came up for adoption last evening, Councillor Barber (tho mover) moved to add to make the by-law more explicit, that all ordinary traffic shall take the northern side of the plantation at Courtenay Place East, and that no one'shall bo permitted to drive a vehicle or ride a horse on the southern 6ide except to arrive at business premises on that side. This, after a discussion, was agreed to. .
