KING'S BIRTHDAY
AWARD PROVISIONS. In order that tradespeople may be acquainted with the position regarding work done on King's Birthday, June 3, tne secretary of the Wellington Employers' Association (Mr. W. A. Grenfell) -has prea summary of the provisions of Arbitration Court awards in regard to this holiday:— For work done on King's Birthday the following workers are - entitled to time and a half:—Bakers and pastrycooks, bookbinders, electrical workers, engine drivers, furniture trade, general labourers. printing 'trades, plumbers, soft goods trade employees, timber yard- and sawmill workers.
Double time is .payable to bootmakers, tailors and tailoresses.
Drivers and storemen and packers receive Is. 3d. per hour in addition to the weekly wage, if work is done. Butchers and grocers must observe the holiday, there being no provision for work being done. No holiday .-is stipulated for bricklayersi carpenters, coaclimakers, cooks- and waiters, builders' -labourers, painters, and stonemasons.
