! *- ■■■ ; THE NEW SCHEDULE. , . A schedule of the new telephone bureau charges, to take effect' as. from yesterday, are set out in-the.current "Gazette." The new ohajges are \as follow, the diflerence in the figures in each' case being, the "ordinary" and "urgent" charges:— Not exceeding 25 miles: Subscribers speaking from their own telephone/ 3d.; Ikl.;' noil-subscribers, Gd., Is.; for three minutes or u fraction. thereof, subscribers, Id.' and 2d., and non-subscribers, ad. . and 4d.' for each succeeding minute or fraction thereof; " ■. Exceeding. 25 and : not exceeding 50 miles (for all persons), Gd. and Is., for three minutes,' and 2d. and Id. for each succeeding minute. Exceeding 50' and not exceeding <5 miles: 9d. ond Is. Gd., and for each succeeding miijute, 3d. and Gd. ■ Exceeding 75 and not exceeding 100 railes: ls. and 2a. per three minutes, and 4d. and Bd. for each succeeding minute. Exceeding 100 and not exceeding 150 miiea: Is. (id. and 3s..ser three minutes,-, and Gd. and Is. for each minute. •. ' ■ • ' ■■. - ' Exceeding 1 150 and not exceeding 200 miles: 2s. and 45., aiid Bd. and Is.. .w. for each succeeding minute. I'or communications, oxcept ' urgent communications, on toll lines ■ over twenty-fiye miles long, between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., half, the above .charges are to be paid—for example, 3d. instead, of Gd., 4id. instead of 9d. Half rafes apply only at telephone exchanges, which are open after 8 p.m. A toll jin a is any departmental line (as distiuct from a subscriber's line) connecting' two places or exchanges, for the use of .which a charge is made. Until further defined, , all lines, except subscribers' lines, are toll linos. ' On holidays, (luring office hours, bureau communications are allowed betwoon bureaux which can. communicate direct with each other or through an .exchange which is open on holidays;
