ARBITRATION COURT

COMPENSATION CLAIMS. The sittings of tho Court of Arbitration were continued yesterday, the Bench being occupied by His Honour Mf. Justice Stringer, and Messrs. W. Scott; (employers' representative), and J. A. Jl'Cullough (employees' representative). Hearing was concluded of the case in which John Anderson, builders' labourer,-claim-ed compensation from William Wilson, contractor, in respect of complications t'o'llowiug a broken, rib, alleged to havo bcon' sustained in the course of tmployincut. Tho firm of Sanders Bros, was joined as third party, as being the principal contractors on 'the job where the injury was alleged to have been sustained. Mr. P. J. O'iiegan appeared for Ander- • son, while the defendants were represented by Mr. F. E. I'etherick (for NVilsou) nnd Mr. T. Neave (for Sanders 8r05.)., - The Court decided that plaintiff had failed to satisfy tho onus resting upon him of proving that the injury was sustained in the courso of n.is employment. •Judgment must therefore' be given for tho defandanta. Counsel did not ask for costs.AN INJURED KNEE. In the afternoon the Court heard the case in which James M'Luckie, labourer, claimed compensation from Campbell and Burke, builders, in respect of an injured knee, tho result of a fall at work on May 19, 1915. M'Luckie had received'payments totalling .£3O 2s. 6d., and the defendants admitted liability for a further amount of i!2S 16s. (iu.
