REVUE COMEDIAN'S APPEAL DISMISSED. An employer recently appealed at the Holbom Recruiting Tribunal on behalf of a comedian who was "essential to a revue." The Mayor: What is it in his performance that makes it impossible to replace him f The- Applicant: He plays the part of a dude, and they are hard to ;J>t. He is the life and soul of the piece Have you tried to get an understudy?—l have. I have done away with all chorus men and have put women in their places. The rest of them in the revue can easily be dispensed with. This man is the entire show. I suppose that it is idle to suggest that the country would benefit by this man's_scrvices? —I don't know. A CanauTaji who saw the show said it was a' tonic that no doctor could prescribe. The application was refused.
