GOLF
KARORI CLUB. The Karori Golf Club's season was officially opened on tho new links on Saturday afternoon, when there . was a large attendance of members and visitors. Mr. L. George, the club's president, welcomed tho visitors and competitions wero then held for prizes presented by the president. The entranco fees wero credited to tho club's patriotic fund. Results of competitions are as follow:— , Men's driving: Mr. 0. Brown, 230 yards. » 1 Ladies' driving:' Mrs. Henry, 130 yards. Ladies' approaching and putting: Mrs. Field, after a tie with Miss Henry. Men's approaching and putting: Mr. 0. C. .Mazeiigarb, after a tie with Mr. B. Keesing.
The prizes were . subsequently presented by Mrs. H. J. Stofct,' wifo of the club's secretary, and afternoon lea was served at the golf house. ■ MIRAMAR CLUB. Following is the result of the mixed foursomes for the Patriotic Fund (31 pairs entered):—i Miss M. "Wheeler and G..0. Sutton (7), all square; Miss L. Turton and AV. M. Ban- (12), all square; Miss E. Mack and E. C. Holmwood (18), all square; Miss Cameron,, and R. L. D. Kids'ton (9), 1 down; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Richardson (12), 1 down; Miss Carter and E. H. Liddle (7), 2 <!'own; Miss Pearson and H. AV. Frost (15), 2 down; Miss Spraggon and P.'Spraggon (18), 2 down; Miss Macintosh and AV. T. Wynyard (9), 3 down; Mrs. A. B. "Williams and P. G. Withers" (16), 3 down.
WAIWETU CLUB. Tho monthly button competition (bogey) for men took place on Saturday, and, resulted in a win for G. A. Wilkos, with a score of 2 down.
