A message received from Wellington last night stated that it was understood that delegates to a conference between representatives of the Amalgamated ;!ss«ety ,of Railway Servants, Engine Drivers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association and the waterside workers' organisation agreed that 'the linking up of the Lab'our bodies mentioned was desirattc, and that in the near future one federation of'transport workers bo established, embracing' all branches of die railway service, as well as carters, tramwaymen, waterside workers, and seamen. Tlio general secretary of the Railway Officers' _ Institute, representing tho first division of tho railway service, statts that his body knows nothing about- the proposed movement.
