HELP IN WAR TIME
RELIEF ASSOCIATION. The executive of the War Relief Association of Wellington met yesterday afternoon. Mr. W. Ferguson presided. The Relief Committee reported:— "Tile committee dealt with 40 applies tions 011 April ]!), and with 32 implications 011 April 2S. On the motion, of Mr. L. 0. 11. Tripp,, the following resolution was carried: "t'ho Relief Committee of tho War Relief .Association of Wellington is nwaro that men in uniform have applied for and obtained assistance from certain citizens. '/.'ho committee is anxious that every case of a soldier in want of assistance' should bo reported to the secretarv of tho War Relief Association of Wellington, and that money, instead of being paid to applicants direct, should 1)2 entrusted' to the association to administer. The sec. rctary will <it once make whatever investigation is necessary, and the comlnittee will see that all deserving cases aro attended to promptly.' " The Finance Committee reported, that the following was the stale, of total funds 011 April 30: —Fixed deposits, £68,000; current account, £3746 1 9s. Id. : petty cash in band, £6 Ss. 5d.; total, £71,75S 7s. Gd. Another £f>oo was, transferred to tho imprest account. /
