The Manuka will berth atj No. 6 Queen's Wharf. WIMMEKA DELAYED. . On account of the wet weather on Saturday, work on the Wellington waterfront had to be very much curtailed. Consequently tho departure of the HuddartParker steamer Wimmcrd, for Melbourne and southern ports, has been postponed till 5 p.m. to-day. She will tako her final departure from tho Bluff on 6aturday next for Melbourno direct. CUMBERLAND LEAVES Being a new boat, of a new type and on her maiden voyage to these waters, more than ordinary interest is being-taken in the projected arrival in this port-of the F. and S. liner Cumberland. ,The Uncr arrived at Auckland early last week, and according to telegraph advice received last evening she cleared that port for Wellington, ' via Napier and Gi6borne, early yesterday morning. She should show up here on Tuesday week....EAIN HOLDS UP WOEK. The rain effectually hold up loading operations on Saturday, and aR a consequence the departure of several vesEeis had to be postponed. Tho Wimmera's departure for Lyttelton was put off until this evening, and at least four other boats—the Kittawa, Kamo, Kamona, and Karu—have been delayed. Tho Karu, which was listed to' leave for New Plymouth to-day, will not got away until to-morrow, and it is expected that tho other three will clear this evening. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. H. L. Hay, second.' officer of the Kittawa, ho.ving. come ashore; .Mr.-H." T. Gilbert has filled the vacancy. Mr. W. 0. P. Richardson, engineer of the Stormbird, has lelt that vessel. Owing to being a fireman short, the Bteamer Petone did not net away for Greymouth and Lyttelton till 11 a.m. on. Sat- ' urday. After discharging a load of timber here the Wootton will return to Nyclia Bay to load a similar cargo for Lyttelton. Laden with timber for the Public Works Department, the schooner Elsie Mary is on her way down, from Meroury Bay' o> Wellington. •Messrs. Bonnatyne and Co. are local agents for the vessel. ' The To Anau, from Auckland, : arrived in port shortly after 10 o'clock last night. Tho vessel has some 660 - tons of cargo to land hore, and will leave for the south tomorrow about noon with troops. From southern ports the Monowai arrived shortly after 10 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She is to depart north at 5 p.m. today. Owing to a heavy sea running at the bar, tho Komata was unable to leave Wcst- . port for Wellington at her scheduled time, and did not get away until yesterday morning. She should arrivo here this morning. There is yet no word of the Amokura leaving Bluff in continuation of her visit to the southern islands. The vessel is apparently still short of a second engineer, in th,e place of Mr.. Maogrogor, who was taken ill and removed to tho hospital.
