Messrs. Dalsety and Company. Limited, Mastorton, report having held their autumn cattle fair at Pahiatua on Wed. needay. There was- a large entry of cattle, far in excess of the advertised number coming forward. Taking tho entry right through, tho cattle wore all in good condition and of splendid quality especially the grown cattle. All classes of young cattle and cows and heifers were in keen, demaaid, but bullocks were dull of sale. The following prices wero realised Thrco and a half-year forward bullocks £12.25. to £12 10s.; thrco and a half-year bullocks, £10 12s. 6d.; two and a half-year 6teers, £8 3s.;' £8 '95., to £8 14s.;'eighteen month steora, £6, £7 10s„ to £7 176.; year, ling steers, £4 lis. 6d.; m.s. Polled-Angus woancrs, £4 Bs.; weaner steers, to £3 7s.\ m£. weaners, 30s. to 385.; fat cows, £7, £8 £10, to £10 125,; light fat heifers, £6 7s 6d.; forward cows. and. heifers, £5 10s., £6, to £6 55.; store cows, £3 18s. 6d., £4 ss. '£4 fe. 6d„ £4 10s. to £6; heifers, £4 12s. 6d; to £6; weaner heifers, £2 10s.; heifers, in calf to S.H. and Hereford bulls, £7 17s. to £8 ss.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co,, It., report having-held their weekly sale in the Levin yards oil Wednesday, when they offered a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. : A special entry of -1500 lambs, offered on account of Mr. M. H.. E. Gorringo (in conjuni.lion with - Messrs. Abraham and Williams and - the New ' Zealand Loan and. Morcantilo Agency _ Co.), met with exceedingly good competition., Quite _a _ number of outside buyers- from the Fcilding and Bangitikei districts were present. Tho. majority of the limbs went to Feilding and San'don. The lambs were carefully drafted, and as they, were well grown and in fair condition good ' competition .'was experienced for each lot-, offered. In our own entries' we had eome good lines . of fats, also some extra good lines of four-year-old bullocks. The tone throughout the sale was distinctly better than the last two previous sales, and we succeeded in practically, selling each lot offered under the hammer. Odlin and Co., .made £10 Us. 6d.; three-year-old stecre, £810 a.; well-bred four-year-old bullocks, £10 18s.; two and a., half year-old ' steers, £7 25.; eighteen-month to two-year steers, £5 175.; store cows, £3 ss. to £4; yearling steers, £3 75.; heifers in calf, £6 2s. 6d..
