NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW, 1916

; The National Dairy Show is scheduled to take place on June 20 to 23 next at Palmerston North. At a period when most farmers are in their slackest time it is tho common practice to fit a visit to the show in with the annual holiday, and for friends often widely separated to meet with the object of exchanging greetings and opinions, at the same time bringing themselves up. to date with the latest ideas in machinery, implements, etc. The prize schedule is now bein" issued for the general sections as distinguished from the butter and cheese division, and copies may be had freo on application to the secretary, at Palmerston North. 1 Tho Manawatu Poultry Association's annual show is held in conjunction with the'main event, this year's North Island, championships being Leghorns, Tlie; New Zealand Leghorn Club' s championship specials are to be competed for at this' show. The' great attractions for the dairy-farmer--are, of course, the butter and cheese Dominion championships, coupled with the annual gatherings of the National Dairy Association, Ltd., at which the past year's working and the current year's policy are discussed. Machinery will occupy the same important place. , Roots, seeds, grain| vegetables, fruit, home cookery, photography, and needlework are all provided for, and a round of school sports and ring' competitions will, as usual, take place. The four, days of the National Sairy Show are brimful of education, interest, and amusement.
