WOOLLEN MILLS DISPUTE
YESTERDAY'S CONFERENCE.
A conference of representatives of the parties to the industrial trouble which has had the effect of shutting down the Pctone Woollen Mills wat held yesterday, at which the. Primi Minister presided. Nothing was divulged after • the meeting as to the outcome of the conference. What actually happened was that proposals were drawn up by the company, after consultation with tho uesou representatives present, to be submitted- to a union meeting that evening. At a well-attended meeting of the members of the union held at Petone last evening the secretary (Mr. E. Kennedy) reported that at the conference' held at the Prime Minister's offico certain proposals were submitted to tho executive which ho outlined to _ the meeting, for members to consider. Seen after the meeting by a reporter, Mr. Kennedy stated that nothing bad transpired,that coutd be given to tlte Press for.publication.
