LAND SALES
Mr. S. George Nathan reports having sold on behalf of the trustees of the Rhodtes Estate a section at the corner of Wakefield and Cuba Streets, opposite the Town Hall, having a frontage of 102 feet to Wakefield Street, by a depth of SO'feet to Cuba Street, for the sum of £10,000, the purchaser being Mr. J. Joseph, of this City. , • Mr. Nathan held an auction sale m the Chamber of Commerce yesterday afternoon, and offered Mr. J. A. Pike s 14-roomed residence, being built of brick and rough-cast, on the ground floor, and , Califoraiah red shingles on the second floor, with land comprising about three ■ acres. Bidding started at £2500, and rose to £2900, at which price it. was passed iii, but the property has since been sold to Mr. Edwaid G-.F. Zolirab at the reserve' price of £3000. Mr. Nathan was also to have offered the Wilton Estate, comprising about 124 acres, within a fow minutes of the A\ adestown tram terminus, but the property was withdrawn from auction as it had been sold privately".
