The Salvation Army Congress was concluded last evening, when a Young People's Demonstration was held in the Town Hall. Commissioner Hodder presided, and there were about 2000 people present. ,- Tire programme was provided by the of the Army. The work of the boya and girls on the stage waj a capital tribute to the training they are receiving. There was ample evidence of discipline, attention to health and dress, and bo on. The programme was. opened by ' a song entitled "Fall In," creditably rendered, by the young people. Prayer followed, after which the • girls from the Wellington Home sang "The Lord's Prayer." The Life-Saving Scouts were introduced,--and inspected by'Commis-; sioner Hodder, and a first-aid display was given by the WellingJon troop. ', Other items on the programme vreie: —Action song, "Rainbow," United. Young People; broom drill aiid tableau, South Wellington Company; action song, "lCnitting," Girls' Home Company; musical skipping, Jessie Black- ■ well;' Japanese lantern drill, Brooklyn Company; song, "The Farm We Call Our Own," Eltham Boys; the Salvation Army emblems, Petone Company; physical drill, the Eltham Bantams; club drill, Girls' Home Company; Scripture: aotion medley, "Eouud the World in 7 'Minutes." United Young People; Maypolo drill, Wellington Primary Com-, pany; recitation, "Give Him a Cheer," Olive Smith; frying-pan drill, Island .' Bay Boys; action song; "Up-to-date-Coach, and Four," Wellington Company; tableau, "By Honour Bound," Eltham Boys; song, "Tell Them in the East," United Young People; poi drill, Girls' Home Company; pyramid drill, Eltham Boys. The programme - was concluded with a tableau hy- the South Wellington Company, embracing "Justice and Mercy," "Three Bidders for the Soul," "The Guardian Angel," "Peace," "Eventide," "The Angel and Manoah." The evening ivas .concluded with the benediction.
