Beach Thomas writes from General Headquarters in France:'"l have spoken to Gorman prisoners taken at St. Eloi.. Some were just dug out of the earthquake mess, and were wearing the green coats of the original Jager battalions. They were dirty and unshaven, but in lighting fettle. They wore extemporised caps or new motal helmets. They were fine men, well clad and booted, smiling, happy, with an unprejudiced view of the war. They thought tho war would be ever this year, and that the sido with tho most guns land men would win." ST. ELOI* PRISONERS. MAJORITY WERE DANES. ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
