THE LATE MR; T. KING, F.H-.A.S, At a special meeting of the Council of the Wellington Philosophical Society, the following motion was passed, all members standing in respectful, silence: "The Council," on behalf of the 'Wellington Philosophical Society, desires to place on record its deepest sympathy with the family of its late president, Mr. T. King, F.R.A.S., in their bereavement, and at the same time to express its high .appreciation of the valuable services which he rendered for so many years to the Wellington Philosophical Society as secretary and member of, the Council." _ Mr. King occupied a unique position in the society, having been elected in lSflfl an honorary life member in recognition of his great services, an honour not shared by any other member. The Council of the Philosophical Institute of Canterbury, at a recent meeting, referred to the death of Mr. King, and sent a message of sympathy and appreciation to tho Wellington Society, and to the relatives -.of its late president, and expressod their,sense of the loss sustained through his 'death.
