BINOCULARS WANTED

The Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J.' V P. Lnko) has telegraphed a request for a public appeal to be made for binoculars for the officers and non-comniissionad officers of the troops that are shortly to leave New Zealand; There are, 'no doubt a great many sportsmen possessed of good binoculars who are not likely to have any use for them for some time to come, the use of which with our forces at the front might very easily mean the saving of many lives. As the Mayor will not be in town for a, few days, peoplo wishing to contribute to the effectiveness of our troops in the manner indicated should send their glasses m to the Town Clerk, who will at once acknowledge.the receipt of the same.
