MASTERTON NOTES
The Waingawa freezing works is turning out about 120 casks of tallow per week, in thrfce different grades. Important additions are being mad<: to tlie works. . Six of the recruits who have register-" ed at Masterton this month have intimated that they will not be ready until June. ' There are at present 27 patients in the Masterton Hospital, including twelve in the isolation ward. The exhibit of tallow made, by tho Wellington Farmers' Moat Company at the San Francisco Exposition has just been returned. The tallow is almost as fresh as when it left' New Zealand. Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby, M.P., has advised tlio organiser of the queen ■ carnival that ho has had placed in his hands for disposal by art union in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund two sections of land in the Carterton Borough, near the railway station. Over two thousand sheep and thirty head of cattle have been donated by Masterton settlers for a sale of stock to ,bo held on Wednesday, in aid of tha Wouijtifd Soldiers' Fund. SUPPER. WITH ECZEMA?
