In the Supremo Court Alfred Smyth, who entered another mail's room at Hamilton, assaulted him fiercely, and decamped with his money and other property, was sentenced to two years' hard labour. James William Palmer, for obtaining £37 from a lawyer by representing himself as the heir to a large fortune, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment.
