LOWER HUTT BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY

At.a meeting held at Lower Hutfc on Monday ovoning, the Mayor (Mr. H. Baldwin) presiding, it was decided to form an Improvement and Beautifying Society. The chairman suggested various methods by which the borough might be advertised, as it held advantages . that other suburbs did not possess. Mr. W. H. Russell thought that'a comprehensive scheme might be adopted, by arranging for tho amalgamation of all tho local bodies in the Hutt Valley. ' . Several speakers pointed out the inconvenience caused to passengorsthrough having to pass through- the yard of the local railway station in order to reaoh the platform. Eventually it was agreed to hold another meeting on.March 29.
