INVESTMENT SHARES. I There were no transactions in investment shares yesterday. The quotations were as follow:

BROKERS' PRIVATE HEPOBTS. Messrs. Dalgety and Company have rr. ceived the following cablegram from their London office, under date February 29:-- 'The second series of wool sales have opened. There was an average "elee'lon and a good attendance of buyers. Comm.--tition was fair. As compared with flm closing rates of last sale, greasy merinos were 5 to 7» per cent, lower, amd scourwl were at par to 5 per cent., lower. Grcisv crossbrcds were from par to 5 per ccnt lower, slipes were unchanged." Messrs Levin and Co.. Ltd. liave re ceived the following cablegram 'from their agents in London, dated February 29--"Wool sales have opened. Merinos 'ire pai- to 5 per ccnt. lower thaa closing rates of last scries; cvossbreds, 5 ner rout cheaper." Messrs.
