Messrs. Abraham and "Williams' annual Pahiatua sheep fair was held on Monday. A feature of the sale was the excellent acaommotfation jahd iarranJomiMHs that had been provided for tho nuge yarding of 27,000 sheep, which constituted, it is bcli'eved, the largest entry of sheep offered by t any individual firm in. New Zealand. The yarding consisted of all classes of store sheep, and, out of the total yarding, over 22,000 found buyers under the hammer. , The prices realised easily eclipsed that of any sale held in the Forty Mile Bush district this year, and, although ewes formed the great part of the entry, the demand for that class held throughout tho day, and we titers and iambs were keenly sought after. In fact, any sheep showing condition and heavy skins in most eases lar exceeded the owners' ideas of their value. Backward ewes and poor lambs were the only class which showed a weakeuing tendency. A line of 111 4-tooth ewes, offered on account of Mr. H. F; Ooom, oi Makurj, looped the market, realising 365. 6d., same being heavy skinned, big-boned Lincoln ewes of exceptional quality.
