ike usual monthly meeting of the Hatait-ai Ratepayers' Association was held m the local bowling pavilion last evenine:. An excellent three-roomed school, with concrete foundations, arranged to allow an extension to eight U'oms, is to be built with large open sheds to uermit of open air classes. A vote of thanks to the Education Board was Dassed. and the hope was expressed that tho latest ideas in ventilation and seatme would be adopted. It was decided to plant the ground with trees when the fencing was completed. headmasters ■ of Roseiioath' and Kilbirme Schools are to be asked to warn scholars against lighting grass fires.
It was decided to again ask the City place seats on the foreshore at Hataitai Bay adjacent to the bathing shed.
The opinion was expressed by members that the Town Hal] site should be olanted with 'trees and fenced in. It was resolved to ask the police to take action against motor-cyclists who exceeded the speed limit.
