* WEEK-END MATCHES, KARORI CLUB. The members of the Karori Defence Rifle Club fired the second match of Elie first series at Trenthain last Saturday afternoon at ranges 800 and 900 yards. _ The weather was all that could be desired, although there was a troublesome rear-wind blowing. Tho Suburbs Rifle Club completed their second series for trophies presented. 'Tho weather at Miramar .on Saturday kept the competitors always on the alert. The best shoot for the day was H. Boon's 34 —33 —33 —100, which is the best score put up by any member of the club in competition at Miramar over ranges of 300, 500, and, 600 yards. The foil owing was the result of the second series, five shots, four highest scores to count: — A Class.—H. Boon, 375, 1; AV. Feltingham, 355, '2. B Class. —A. Harris, 346, 1; W. May, 330, 2. 0 Class.—P. C. Winchcomb, 295, 1; E. B. S. Hill, 292, 2. The following are leading for the Newton Cup, with two shoots yet to be fired: —11. Boon, 33; S. Lovell, and H. Hunt, 31; F. W. Thompson, 25 points. For t'no club championship a close fmish is expected between H. R. Hunt and H. Boon.
