CASE AT WANGANUI. By Telegraph—Preeo Association. Wanganui, February 19. A case of infantile paralysis from Nil. kumaru is in Wanganui Hospital. It is olio of a mild form. Another oase n reported from Orofton, near Marton. IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT. In tha Wellington health district (which reaches ?s far as New Plymouth and Gisbome), there are at present 10 cases of infantile paralysis. The • majority of tho cases are at Napier and Gisbome. In tho Wellington City area, tliore is only one definite case of infantile paralysis, and this is considered Very satisfactory by the authorities. A caso yesterday was rejiorted in tho Hutt Valley and one at ■ Palmerston North. A fresh case at Napier was reported to-day. A fair proportion of the sixteen cases are still doubtful. _ The Health authorities state that m a Rood many of the cases the children had been bathing, just prior to being taken ill, either in the sea. or rivers. A chill has always been recognised to bo B predisposing cnuso of tlio disease.
