CITY CRICKET
LOW SCORING WIN FOR TRENTHAM Saturday was another day of rather poor scoring in the senior critcket matches which were played in the city. Chief interest in the Basin Keserve matches centred in the meeting of Trentham and Central. On the opening day of the match Trentham scored 212, and in the end this first innings effort proved to bo good enough to win them the game. Central's first innings yielded 17G, and us Trentham's second innings was still in progress when time arrived, the decision rested on the two first innings.There Trentham liad a. lead of 3G runs, and by that margin tlioy gained the victory. Thero was one good individual score on each side on Saturday; S. Hickeon once again made valiant effort to eave the situation for Central; and Kinvig ran up 57 not out for Trentham. Robinson, the representative fast bowler, six Trentham wickets for 35 runs. University made a poor stand against North, who won by an innings and 38 »nns. Petone defeated Old Boys by 7 runs.
