INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION
AFTER-THE-WAR. PROBLEMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, January 18. The annual meeting and conference of the Now Zealand Industrial Corporation, which. includes the provincial industrial associations, opened to-day, Mr. J. 13. Laurenson presiding. Mr. Laurenaon said they would have to consider what attitude tho Government should take towards the industries/of New Zealand after tho war. The industrial life of the Dominion had never been on a satisfactory basis. The war had taught the necessity of manufacturing, but they had been educated to rel.v on imports. The task now was to harness science and industry together. Our manufacturers had not taken full advantage of our colleges, nor consulted the professors. Tho manufacturers were not fully considered by the Government. This reproach could be removed by a Government Department containing the most highly-trained experts on research.
