ANNIVERSARY DAY
By announcement in our advertises; columns the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) invites tho citizens to observe a public holiday on Saturday next (Anniversary Day). Under tlie Shops and Offices Act those shop-keepers who would require to give their assistants holiday to-day (Wednesday) will be complying with the law if they now arrange to give their employees the holiday on Saturday (Anniversary Day).
