TARANAKI ST., METHODIST CHURCH
The quarterly meeting of the Board of' Management met last evening, and was presided over by the Rev. J. G. Chapman. Membership returns showed 600 full and 111 junior members in the_ circuit. Tae financial results revealed a credit on the quarter of £7 odd, and a balance to general account of £50. The annual balance-sheet was read and adopted. The total amount of receipts for the year is £1290, and acredit balance of £42. Contributions to foreign missions realised £139 10s., and for homo missions £80 19s. 4d. for the year. Aro Street Mission raised £105. Appreciation was expressed at tho satisfactory financial position of the circuit, every department showing a credit balance. Gratification was expressed with the pulpit ministrations of the minister, the increasing interest shown in the Sunday services, and attendance at the Lord's Supper. Messrs. G. Tiller and W. E; Kedstono represent the circuit at the conference to be held in Auckland next monl'h, with Messrs. E. Bolton and G. Williams as substitutes.. Messrs. W. E. Redstone and F. Chinchen were re-elected to the position of circuit stewards for the ensuing year. The Young Men's Bible Class, under the leadership of Mr. Thomas Ralph, has, through the exigencies of the war, suffered in membership, many going to the'front. It was decided to extend an invitation to hold the conference for 1917 in Wellington.
