Mayo 18 2 1 Total ,£3OS 9 10 The Rev. J. Mayo, writing from the vicarage, Kimbolton, encloses a cheque foi w£lß 2s. Id., a contribution to the Serbian Relief Fund. In the course of his covering letter Mr. Mayo states tliafc the sum furnished represents "the contents of alms boxes for that purpose in the following churches:— £ s. d.. St. Agnes (Kiwitea) 615 3 St.'Saviour's (Kimbolton) G 1 i St. Paul's (Cheltenham) 2 10 9 St. Mary's (Beaconsfield) 2 14 9 All these churches are in the Kiwitea Parochial District. At the last-named church some contemptible thief rifled the alms box ami stole some .£3 in gold anil silver that is actually known of, possibly more, so that the Beaconsfield total would have reached some ,£6 otherwise. As it io, only a small scattered community (no township whatever), and the people had denied themselves Cor the purpose, of helping the Serbians, the 'sacrilegious theft is the more 'contemptible, and much indignation is felt amongst the liberal givers. It would go hard with the thief if he were discovered." -
