4 MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. Mr. L. Ashcroft Edwards was in tho chair, and thove were present: Messrs. J- /''• Atkins, William Smith, E. T. Doddreli, H. H. Read, and' L. T. Watkins. • Tlio chairman reported that a committee had waited on the Mayor and the City Engineer regarding the use of the Town Hall gallery, and that provided arrangements for the supply of new seat 6 did not interfere it was pro- : bable that tho gallery would be available for display of Government exhibits and Technical School work. Tlio secretary reported cash at bank £256 Us., and that balance of stall fees were duo and requests for payment had been made. Messrs. J. F. Atkins and L. T. Watkins were appointed joint managers. The arrangements for supply of films depicting industries of the Dominion and some of the scenic resorts for production during the exhibition were left in the hands of the joint managers to complete. Physical culture and military displays were decided upon, and arrangements made to set aside one evening as a military night for men to attend from Trentham Camp. Messrs. Atkins, Watkins, Smith, and H. H. If-ead were appointed a enb-com- ■ mittee to arrange for music by bauds and individual performers. This committee was given power to add outside members to its number, and was limited to an expenditure of £25 for music. It was resolved that a meeting of exhibitors be held early in January to enable exhibitors to decide for themselves steps to be taken as to the preparation of aji exhibition catalogue or souvenir. Messrs. Edwards and Atkins were deputed to wait on H.M. Trade. Commissioner, Mr. W. G. Wickham, relativeito the use of trade statistics which Mr. Wickham had available for exhibition use. A record of appreciation was ordered to be made on the ' minutes of the services rendered and information supplied by Mr. Wickham to the joint managers, and the many courtesies extended by Mr. Wickham to Messrs. Edwards and Atkins. The principle was affirmed that exhibitors might book orders, but must not make sales of their exhibits during exhibition. The secretary was instructed to write suggesting tho words "Patriotic Exhibition, Town Hall, Wellington, 19-26 th February, 1916," bo placed on the stamp-cancelling machine in use at tho G.P.O.
