Riddell, S.M., yesterday for plaintiff, for 10s„ with costs 6s. Mr. R. Kennedy appeared for tho plaintiff und Mr. G. P. Bunny for the defendant.. POLICE PROSECUTION'S. Tolico cases wore taken before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. John Dawson, who had been arrested for soliciting alms in Manners Street, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. A native of India, named Manoel Xavier Mendonicn, was remanded for a week on a charge of being an idle and disI orderly twaM. guilty to the theft of a- fox terrier dog and was remanded until Monday next for sentence. J. J. Barrett, charged with helpless drunkenness, was remanded for a Week *°L 7 S". ra Wvo treatment. William Tierncy, who had been three times before tlio Court recently for drunkenness, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Six first-offending, inebriates were dealt with in thp usual lenient manner.
