COUNCIL'S- MONTHLY MEETING. At;the monthly meeting of.the Victoria College Council- last nignt, the Kov. W. A. presided. There were also present; Professor Adamson, . Professor Kankine Brown, Dr. C. M. Heptor,'Messrs. C. B. Morison, K.C., T. R. Fleming, William Ferguson, W. H. Morton, and R. If'Callum; N.P.. Leave of absence was granted to Dr. C. B. Anson, Dr. C. Prendergast Knight, the Hon. J. G. .W. Aitken, the Hon. A. T. Maginnity, and Messrs. 0. Watson and A. It. Atkinson. The oredit balance at the bank, after allowing for monthly payments of ,£9OB 03. 10d., was reported as. ss. There wis also reported' to be a credit of .£IO3B 18s. at the Post Office Savings Bank. In connection with a request from the secretary of the Association .asking for 'the! assistance of the-,Regis-trar in ascertaining names of students entering camp, the Registrar was instructed to reply that he was unable" to do what was asked,' but that he'would be glad to co-operate with the association and with the Graduates' Association ia preparing a roll of honour. . The • Finance Committee. recommended, and it was agreed, that the council grant a sum riot exceeding' £i • for- the purpose of buying bos files far scientific periodicals. ' A sum of.£6 12s. 10(1. was granted to Mies Shirer for researoh work in connection with the Jacob Joseph Scholarship,
