EDUCATION DISTRICTS

NEW BOUNDARIES DEFINED. The Council of Education, to_ which body was assigned the task of dividing New Zealand into nine education districts, has agreed upon the following districts Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Wanganui, 'Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, A few changes have, however, been made in the boundaries recommended by the Boundaries Commission.

The Auckland district loses Olvura and Awakino to the new Taranaki district, and regains Whakatajie, Opotiki, and East. Taupo, which wore 1 given to Hawke's Bay. by the Commission. ' 'Taranaki district consists of tho Coun» ties of Awakino, Ohura, Clifton, Whangamomona, Taranaki, Egmont, Stratford, Eltham, Waimate West, and Hawera.,

The Wanganui district, loses Eltham and other small portions of Taranaki.

The Wellington district now takes in the Sounds, Marlborough, and Awatere Counties in the South Island.

The Nelson district will extent to Buller, Murcliison, and Inangahua. Canterbury includes Westliuid and Grey, and South Canterbury down to the southern boundaries of the Waimate and Mackenzie Counties; also,the Chatham Islands.
